Today was an eventful day. I calmed down my boss, probably saving a few lives. You'd swear he delivered mail for a living. After work Tom picked me up and we decided to use the break in the rain to pick up a christmas tree. We picked one that would fit perfect in our place but had some trouble tying to the
roof of the car.

But we managed and got it
all decorated.

Tom and I then went to see Bad Santa with our friend Michelle. That movie is brilliant. Evil, dark, evil, funny, and wrong. A christmas classic for sure. I now know what i want for christmas... a talking walnut! Go see the movie.

After the move we were still laughing as we went to dinner at Original Joe's. Tom had a gift certificate and he showed it when we first sat down. It's an Italian family restaurant so when Tom showed the certificate to the man who seated us he told us he had to show it to his mother. She came to talk to us, and said there was a problem with the certificate because there was no signature. (uh-oh)

This poor woman had no idea who she was dealing with. Tom stayed calm and told her that he received it from his friend Barry who came in at least one a week and she would surely know him. They both had been coming to the restaurant for years and the certificate was just probably filled out incorrectly by one of the older (way past retirement) waiters who just forgot.

She asked us to come back with Barry, Tom said he would and we would still eat here tonight, he was just disappointed. But he is Italian and loves drama, so it would be interesting to see what happens next time. Somehow it came up that his family has lived here in SF for over a hundred years and she started asking about names of people in his family. When he mentioned his Uncle Louie who worked for Royal Tallow you could see a light click in her head that made me get the idea that the name was more meaningful to a San Franciscan Italian. "You mean he could get me into the Tallow cemetery she asked?" I surmised this to have Mafia meanings. Tom didn't hear her correctly and answered, yes, but he's buried in the Italian cemetery in Colma. the conversation when on for a little while and then she went off but came back a few minutes latter and said because of Uncle Louie she would accept the certificate. We were all happy. Tom didn't seem to understand why I was so shocked. He didn't realize he had made a threat at all, he thought she just knew that his Uncle Louie was dead. A very exciting night for everyone involved. We left a $25 tip. The food was amazing and after a bit of explaining Tom realized what he unknowingly said.

The movie was brilliant, it really was a lot dirtier than they led you to believe on the commercials. lets just say the midget really does have some lip on him.

Thanks, when you live in SF with such huge houses you can afford to get the big trees. It's just takes so long to decorate them! It only takes my mom a few days to get up all her X-mas decorations. I was amazed that I was able to get my tree done so quickly! Hee hee ho ho ho!
