WEnt down to LA this weekend.

It's alway such a wierd feeling to be back in LA. The place is just so differnt than SF in every way. Sometimes I miss it but really what I am missing are my friends that live down there and Drive Thru Restaurants. There really are no good fast food restaurants in SF.

I live up in San Francisco now, but I grew up in Long Beach and worked in Irvine. Irvine has changed so much in the past few years. When I was a kid Irvine was beautiful open fields. I can't remember if Lion Country Safari, a drive though zoo, was in Irvine or Laguna. Now the whole area is a miniature Silicon Valley. I spent many hours photographing the modern buildings of Irvine.

California is really amazing with how different it is northern to southern. It's a big place but so is Texas. The weather alone takes quite a bit to get used to, San Francisco contrary to popular television is quite cold. I love watching "Charmed" and seeing those girls in their tiny outfits knowing that if they would freeze if they were really in San Francisco.

My older sister got married out in San Clemente last year around Thanksgiving, it was quite wonderful.

My friend Dante tells me that San Clemente is filled with old republicans and old money, but I could hardly notice.

I really loved it out there. It's totally different from Texas. People were constantly looking at my dad's green tube socks and his gun in holster on his hip and his shag hairdoo. Ha!

Re: Maybe this summer...
Southern California is nice and hot (85-100F)in the summer while in SF it is still relativly cool, arround 65-75 F. Sometime I think the main source of income for SF is from Tourist buying overpriced sweaters in Fisherman's Warf durring the summer months. Strange thing is the weather is perfect in the fall. If you come our to SF let me know!

Sure thing....
But, I will not be buying any overpriced sweaters.
