Life is good.

Yesterday was my first day back at work after being taken out by some evil illness. I haven't been that sick in years. I was so sick I didn't play a single video game and I only watched one movie, The Black Caldron. I waited almost thirty years to watch this movie... It was not as good as the book. I wonder how I would have felt if my mom would have taken me to see the movie after I finished the book. I still tease her about it to this day, "Your dyslexic son reads a book and you don't take him to see the Disney animated movie, I'm sure that's the definition of Child Abuse! "

I was shocked to see I had gotten an email saying I was one of the winners of the IT spotlight award. I was shocked. I am so used to being the wheel that never gets greased that I assumed I was forgotten about. I think it has a lot to do with my new boss. He realizes that our office has been limping along, understaffed, under appreciated and over worked. He seems to be doing his best to fix all three problems. It's nice to finally get some recognition that I am not only doing my job but covering for other people as well. Miss Guano is still MIA in case you were wondering.

Last night I was reminded how lucky I am. Chris March came over to watch Project Runway at our house. He dished the dirt and judged the designs. It was really fun. I have to say the funnest part of the evening was when we played Episode 2 of last years Project Runway Canada (their green episode which used recycled umbrellas) Chris was shocked at how mean Iman (their Heidi Klum) was to amazing designers. Tom embarrassed me by attacking Poor chris almost as soon as he was in the door. He dialed his sister Rosie and handed unsuspecting Chris the phone. She probably broke his eardrum screaming in excitement. Of course twenty minutes later we got a call from Lindsay (tom's niece who used to live with us) reprimanding him for not calling her instead. The family phone tree is strong and fast. It's really a good thing Tom has been friends with Chris for so many years or I would have been mortified. It was my first time meeting Chris and he is just like he was on Project Runway. His laugh really is the best thing ever.

Thanks for having me over last nigh!
And thanks for all the “Details” you gave me.

I heat you!

You heat me? I didn't know the Finnish heated things... I thought they liked things to be a cool as their Vodka. Maybe you mean you Heat (magazine) me... now that make sense.

*sigh* I want to meet Chris. And interview him for Electric Tangerine. I might get the chance to do so with two of this year's designers and one of the stylists from Shear Genius, because of their Columbus connection.

If I knew him better I would ask him for you... but to him I'm just his old friend's new boyfriend. Good luck with the Shear Genus interviews.

Congrats on getting your wheels greased.

Thank you! It's nice to get greased up every now and then.

hot! I'm just saying. ...and the icon isn't helping. ...or it is helping, depending on your goal here. ;)

I've just been trying to use different user pics... but how can one use the word greased and not be a bit flirty.

Oh, I wasn't complaining, not in the slightest. :)

...and since I was distracted by your sexyness before, let me say now...
1. congrats on the reward and recognition
2. I'm so jealous you got to hang out with Chris March.

I loved Project Runway Canada. Primarily, because Iman was such a bitch! As far as the current season of Project Runway is concerned, I'll be happier when they whittle the designers down a bit. There are way too many just to drag out the season a little.

I'm glad you are feeling better now.

Thank you. I agree, each episode there are designers who get almost no airtime... and that normally means they won't be eliminated for quite a few episodes. right now there are too many designers who I have no clue who they are yet. I love Project Runway Canada. Tom and I watched it last year and now we've been showing it for a few friends each week. I swear it's better the second time around because you are waiting for Iman to name drop and scold the designers.

I'm glad you got rid of what ever bug was ailing you and that hopefully there will be a big bonus to go along with the IT Spotlight Award.

I don't watch Project Runway so I can't comment on that.

I get a little something for the award, but really the recognition is worth so much more. Sometimes you just need to hear someone say thank you.

I know exactly what you mean. It never happens here though I tell my co-workers when they've done something good.

Oh... so that was him I saw at Chow!

I didn't know we had celebrities in this town. At least ones who haven't worked for Falcon.

He live in NYC but he's in town for a wedding. We have other celebs other than porn stars... but the pornstar->non porn celeb ratio is a bit skewed.

You are so wonderfully placed in the scheme of things.
Glad you're no longer sick. I know how that sucks but sounds like you've been reimbursed in spades.
From the stories you've told about work, it's about time you were noticed.

Were you as sick as you were that time at the Bjork concert and you laid upstairs and everyone thought you were ODing?
