I know a lot of people can’t stand the sound of their voice and I am their leader. I hate hearing myself speak. When I went to Ireland in 1993 with Mike and Phinny, Mike brought along his video camera. He has tons and tons of footage of me standing places with my mouth firmly clenched. Up until a few months ago my voice mail at work had a recording of me using a company name that hadn’t existed in several years. I was always teased when I was younger for my faggy voice and limp wrists. I did toughen up an attempt to butch it up as much as I could.

When we were forced to try out for glee club in first or second grade I was still blissfully unaware of how horrible my voice was. Thankfully I was educated by the glee club teacher who was a mean ancient woman that always carried around stick that she swung more to create fear than guide children to follow the notes. When we were trying out she told me that I should never ever sing... “never ever”.

It took large amounts of alcohol to get me to sing to karaoke revolution when there were only two friends in the room. It will probably never happen in a bar. I only sing in the when I think no one can hear me an hopefully I can’t hear myself over the music either.

The thought of recording my voice is tossed so quickly from my mind that it has taken me quite some time to figure out a way to do a podcast. I realized I could podcast if I keep the talking to a minimum and let my Mac do the speaking for me. I’m sure my voice isn’t nearly as bad as I think it is, and I have come a long way, but I still have no desire to amplify or record my voice.

So all that said, Please give my podcast a listen, sorry about the annoying computer voice. I just want to share some of the more interesting songs I have discovered.

I've played around with the podcast function but find that unless I have something specific in mind that's all I do and so nothing comes to completion.
Oddly, because of LJ's voice posts I've come to almost like the sound of my voice.

Just to make sure I knew what I was talking about, I just opened GB. There are settings that let you change a male voice to a female voice, or a chipmunk or droid, etc. as well as making oneself sound as if one were in a tunnel or a cathedral. Pretty fun but I should be looking for work.
