Question from write_like_krzy:
What food would you absolutely die without?

I’m not very food oriented. There are foods I like and definitely foods I eat far too regularly. I am incredibly predictable when it comes to food. In fact I would go so far to say I am timid. I worry sometimes that what I order will come out as a pile of inedible nasty tasting bell peppers and squishy tomatoes in a a stinky spicy fish sauce. There are times that I am adventurous, when I am in the mindset of extreme sports. When traveling it easier for me to throw caution to the wind. I found that I like escargot, pork knuckle and even some fish. I also found that Steak Tar Tar wasn’t going to kill me and that I don’t ever need to try spotted dick again.

I don’t tend to crave foods. I enjoy lots of different things, I love Indian food. I like the way their spices feel. Latin spices are also good but very different. I like how the Indian spices seem to move beyond your mouth heating nose and cheeks and ears. I think the one thing I crave is Coca-cola, it’s not food but it’s close.

I'm so popular, I get my own post!

Some of my bestest friends aren't adventurous eaters, but since you actually like spice, you've got them beat. :]

Best typo ever, or Freudian slip?
I don’t ever need to try spotted dick again.

I'll try it. Who's it connected to?

Spotted dick is a English desert with large amounts of raisons and currents. I ordered it because the name was so foul, I had to try it.

I'm QUITE the adventurous eater! And I don't think I could make it long in the world if it no longer offered me oysters on a semi-regular basis. That said, I haven't had good Indian food in MONTHS! Maybe you can introduce me to some good eats when I get back to SF next week...

Noooo! How long are you back for? I'm in London right now and won't be back until the 23rd. Star of India on Geary is amazing.

I'm starting out with a three month contract at UCSF - I'll be living with eigenvector. I'm kinda hoping at this point to find a permanent spot in SF and settle down (to the best of my ability!).
