Flash and Slash

Sometimes life can be blown away by a flash. It flattens faces and distorts colors and seems to suck the life out of people. Flash is almost never flattering... unless your a goth, then it really brings out your white makeup and ensures your blood-red lipstick and black fingernails pop!

I have been really enjoying using a technique where you use your flash but leave your aperture speed for a long exposure. it's great to allow you get your subject in focus but without creating a lifeless flat image. It normally adds an otherworldly effect. I really like to make sure the camera get lots of movement to make the effect blatant.

Click here to see the blurred life my camera has been witness to lately!

I keep seeing .Mac accounts popping up. I know you've had yours for a time now. Do you think it's worth it? I'm contemplating a trial account but think that once it's established I'll want to keep it. It's only $100 for a year and I've got all those iLife features that I don't otherwise use.

I think it's worth it just for the time it saves me. I just picked out the photos I wanted, did some quick touchup in iPhoto to remove a little shine and redeye and told it to turn it into a webpage... and was done... no endless uploading of files.

I've always loved that effect. First/second curtain flash, yay! Your photo album is like a parade of LJ-ers :-)

nice. I have a flash/camera 35mm combo that allows for final curtain flash. wish I had a digital cam that had that feature.

It's not the aperture! Shutter is the time value! Aperture is how big the hole is!
