Everybody wins at Aunt Charlie's

Sometimes the Reviews on Amazon.com are better than the actual books.
Everybody love the Family Circus! Thanks to Euge for the link.

Also thanks to everyone for the well wishes.

I was able to throw up some of the pictures from Tom's birthday party at Aunt Charlie's. The pictures toward the end were taken by skibumca. My camera is at the end of it's life. I went through three batteries and it seems the flash isn't really syncing with the shutter anymore. That poor camera has been dropped so many times and has traveled all over the world. I think it finally time to get a new one!

When we first showed up to Aunt Charlie's there were three people in our group there and that was it. We wanted to arrive early because the place is so small and Tom had invited half of San Francisco! As we sat, Kathy told the waitress this was the birthday boy. Tom shot her the look of death, saying with his eyes, "Bitch, I can't believe you've betrayed me. Et Tu Brutus!" "Oh they already knew" she half sighed, half threw from her mouth. The lovely latin waitress chimed in, "Some handsome silver haired man came by asking if he had missed your party... Cocktail?"

Tom was terrified THIS was going to happen again.

After we received our drinks people started to arrive in packs. By the time the show started every seat was taken. As the MC came walking out, Tom gasped, "Oh my god... Gina." and so the audience got to watch old friends talk shit for about ten minutes. It was entertaining though. The rest of the show was great. The three favorites of the evening were definitely Miss Vicki Marlane, Gina La Divina, and Daffney Deluxe.

One part of the evening I found particularly amusing was happening almost the whole evening, i just didn't find out until later. Aunt Charlie's makes their drinks pretty much without mixers. so if you order a Vanilla Stoli and coke, it will be almost clear. Tom isn't a big drinker, in fact he drinks very rarely. Everyone kept buying him drinks and be the mischievous boy he is, he kept putting them next to bete_lumineux's drinks. He was able to trick Malakai into drinking a few of his drinks! Everybody wins!

I swear, monkeyX3, you are no longer allowed to get a camera anywhere near me.

Those are actually some fucking fantastic shots though! My favs are the gold drag queen singing with a look of sultry disgust and Arlene in awe. Hee.

That was a fun night. Too bad is was difficult to actually hang out as a cohesive group.

Next to last pic.
Of you and Tom. Nice.

I knew you would have something special planned but I never expected a revue!

I wish we had gay bars. Albany, NY sucks.

Did you do a private spanking? LOL

looks like you were able to have a pretty good time, despite a few rough edges/weirdnosities. nice pictures, even with the camera difficulties. I'm still trying to get used to my Nikon Coolpix 4100 — first digital I've ever had, and it's not nearly as sensitive as I'm used to on a 35mm (still have my two SLRs sitting in the closet), not to mention not as heavy (proving very valuable for low light stability).
