WTF- Anonymous spam in my journal!

i just deleted a post left as a comment in my journal advertising that if people click on some link they would get an iPod for $7. That is fucked up to post shit like that in someone's journal. I keep my journal open to everyone, but it's mine. I can't believe someone would post some crap in my journal trying to trick people out of their money or email address or whatever. Bastard!

1. You've got a duplicate of this entry.

2. Did you report it as spam to LJ on the delete comment screen?

1. Thanks, I didn't realize that.
2. No, do you think I should, it sounds like a few people got hit with this, I'm sure it's the same guy.

1. Welcome =)

2. Hrm, well it would have been easier if you just checked the "report as spam" checkbox when it asked you if you were sure that you wanted to delete the comment... I'm not quite sure how to report it to them after the fact... you can probably find something about it in the support section... I'm too lazy to search right now lol

You've been robo-spammed. You should report it to the LJ police....I'm sure a hundred others got the same thing today...and the ones who clicked the link got a nice juicy virus on their machine...umm...you didn't click, did you?

Nope, I just deleted it. I'm not foolish enough to believe I could get an iPod for $7 even from a reputable source let alone some anonymous spammer. I'm on a Mac so chances are slim I would have gotten a virus but better safe than sorry.

Ah, the beauty of Mac OS X, and the fact that the only viruses that exist for it are merely concept viruses... and even those might have just been taken care of through the 10.3.5 update today... heh

That is incredibly invasive and makes me mad! Especially since right now I'm also reading "Branded" about the intrusion of corporate culture into children's lives. AAARRRRRRGH!
