Par-rental visit

My parents left this morning from their visit to the city by the bay. It was a very successful visit- I am exhausted. I took them to the new academy of sciences http://www.calacademy.org/ , Muir woods http://www.nps.gov/muwo/ and the Half moon bay Art and Pumpkin Festival http://www.miramarevents.com/pumpkinfest/ and Mavericks http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grant_Baker . We also visited pressclub for wine tasting, Moshi moshi for sushi and Zadin for Gluten-free food. I was searching to see if any Indian restaurants were good for my mom who has Celiac when I found Zadin on yelp http://www.yelp.com/biz/zadin-san-francisco As son as I read that my mom could have fried imperial rolls, calamari and beer at this restaurant, I changed our plans. My mom had never tried a fried roll or Calamari before. She loved them.

Recent quotes of shame:

While in the Muir Woods looking at redwood trees:
“Man look at the size of that tree. If you cut it down and hollowed it out, you could fit a lot of Indians in that canoe.”

While driving in SOMA a white trash family is sitting on the sidewalk.
A Bobby Hill looking boy with a metal hoop and southern draw: “Look mama ring toss.”
Mama: “Travis, don’t you hit no cars or were gonna haveta run.”
(Travis throws hoop at the parking meter where it bounces and hits my car doing no damage.)
Mama: “Run Travis!”
(Travis didn’t run, he just looked very concerned. We smiled at him)

Ooo! I wanted to go to the Pumpkin festival, but I had too many other things going on *and* was trying to get over a cold. Was it fun?

Congrats on the successful parental visit! :)

It must have been such a treat for you mom to eat at Zadin. I read about Celiac and I feel for her.

Glad everyone had a great time.
