2nd Annual PDX panic trip.

Seems like i've been here before. Last year the Portland office fired their IT guy and had my fly up to try to bring order to the office. I arrived to find the office in total chaos. The previous IT guy had not been doing anything in months. I enjoyed my stay in Portland and experienced my first Mardis Gras. i had a great time spending the week up there.

They hired a new IT who was great! Then the portland office had layoffs and the guy in charge of the portland office decided to lay off Jeremy a single father of two right before christmas. He figured he could just have me come up a couple of times a month and have San Francisco pay for his support rather than have his office absorb the cost. It's not going to fly and I'm hoping they will be bringing Jeremy back!

But in the meantime, I'm off to Portland on wednesday. Sadly this time I will only be there wednesday and Thursday. One night in Portland!

such a waste, another day
such a waste, but it feels great"

FYI: I do know someone who is looking for a part-time IT support job in Portland, if they want someone only part-time. : )

I believe he is your long-lost twin: a Mac-guru who mostly supports PCs now.

And...he took this picture of me.

He shaves pretty regularly (but needs to if he doesn't want to have a full beard). He has had some fierce sideburns from time to time.

i lived there for 8 yrs.

it's like an opium haze of a town, so lazy, so great... but that's sadly also what inspired me to leave

Assuming that I'm feeling better by then what would you say to meeting up? I have to take a friend to school (his class is at 5) but will be free after that. Perhaps we could have dinner. I think that it would be interesting to meet the real Monkey.

I was hoping we could meet up for dinner or something! sounds great! I should be getting off work around 5pm... people usually leave around 4:30. the only thing that would keep me late is if my boss needs me to do something later.. but my guess is he won't. i just emailed you my mobile number so we can meet up! yay!

And yes, I’m doing much better, Malakai (bete_lumineux) came by and we played video games from 5pm to midnight! I just needed to be around someone. I can't stand to be left home alone all day. I sound like a dog...
Hee hee!

Good! Everything very convenient. I had fears that you'd be working out in Beaverton.
Okay to call you during the day?

It sure is... Everyone here knows I get calls from people needing help in SF. so a phone call from you could easily pass as someone from the SF office! YAY
