Damn you NYE!

I used to have a very negative view of New Years Eve. I've had so many disappointing ones. I even had one where right before midnight the crowd shifted and pulled me away from my friends so that when midnight stuck I was surrounded by strangers. One of whom stole my cool mask, bastard! I have had some truly great New Year Eves as well though, Like when I had sex with Deric (that was pretty nice) and when I was in Berlin for 2000 and last year was fun too. I guess because I have so many good ones lately I grown to expect them.

This year got a few invitations and I was bugging Tom to see what he wanted to do. He was hemming and hawing (who knows how that phrase is supposed to be spelled) and wasn't giving me an answer. So I basically said I was going to let Canada know we were going to go his party. Tom and I don't like a lot of the people who go to Canada's parties but we like Jason, Melissa, Joe and several other people. Plus it's close to our homebody friend Michelle who we like to drag out. Today Tom called me with something he wants me to think about. He just wants to just get Michelle and go to his sister Barbara's house and play board games. Fun, but no New Years Eve specialness, we do this at least once a month. He got the idea from when I asked if he wanted to go to grubbybastard's party... which he was really contemplating, even though he has never met nor read Grubby's journal.

So I am wondering what to do. Barbara would be ecstatic with Tom's idea, she is still too heavy to really go out for new years and seems extra lonely since her operation. Michelle is not one for crowds and probably also would like Tom's plan best. So really it's just me who has the problem. Maybe If I can come up with some idea to make it a more special and memorable evening. Damn you, excited expectations!

Just to clarify -- my thing is in the afternoon, and wouldn't last into the evening. Maybe I should clarify this on the evite as well....?

hmmmm... i almost envy you for having a nice quiet night with friends for NYE. i think this is what i'm going to be doing: http://www.gothic.bc.ca/sincity/ .

i'm only going because my friend is the promoter/dj and he put me on the guest list and i think i may get a few free drinks to boot. while you're rolling your dice and moving your game piece at midnight, think of me wearing nothing but pvc in a hot, crowded & sweaty club. lol...

Re: Come on over to my place
Are you even in California? I thought you were in Oregon. Naked Twister on New years sounds like a good plan. It's been over 10 years since I played Naked Twister, that is a shame!

I suspect anything you decide on will be fun or at least fodder for something else.

I know you'll find something exciting to do. And I can't wait to see a pic of you with a crazy New Years hat and a big smile.

Re: Happy New Year Monkey :-)
I got your Moosletoe card, Thank you! Now that I got your address, I'll be send you something. somehow I doubt I will be wearing a new years hat this year, the weather has gotten so awful my plans for going to a few different parties early in the evening is not so appealing. A nice cozy evening at home sounds pretty nice, now. Hope you have a happy new years!

Re: Happy New Year Monkey :-)
We did. My brother in Yorba Linda told me New Years Day that it has rain since I left. All the more reason I should be living out there. Ha ha. Hopefully he will keep a big house and I can winter there when I retire.

Hope you and Tom and a fun New Years.

Hopefully next time you go to visit your brother I will be visiting my parents or friends and we can meet up for dinner or something. My best friend phinny used to live in Yorba Linda as well as my old roommate Michael.

Re: Happy New Year Monkey :-)
That would be great. Wish you were there this past time. Kind of boring. There is no place to go there. They told me not to rent a car as I could use one of theirs. That never happened. I learned my lesson. Rent a car no matter what.

I would have loved to have joined you guys at Disney.
